De Sprong primary school in Koudekerke is designed as a multifunctional education zone that completely does away with the concept of the classroom as a separate entity. In between each classroom is an element that can accommodate a wide variety of activities. Sometimes this is the computer room, at other times it becomes the arts and crafts room. The education zone also includes a higher block where the main hallway and games room are located. These two rooms can be combined into one larger room.
A hallway element provides access to the classes, connects the classrooms and the central public hallway and acts as a noise barrier between the various groups. The element leads to two special rooms: the teacher’s lounge on one side and the “Kleine Theater” for pupils on the other.
