Apart from the dam, retaining walls, cuts, gateways, a stone bear and a laboratory have been restored. Two 19th century powder magazines and a caponier were adapted for new uses. The restoration of these fortifications is unique because one section still serves as a primary flood control line. In order to meet the requirements of this situation, special bricks were created for this project and the mortar mixture was changed. In order to prevent cracks in the historic wall sections, weak spots were purposely added to the new structure.
The existing flora and fauna required special attention throughout the entire renovation with respect to execution, materials used and design.
