Nature and recreation are combined with sustainable energy generation in the Zonnebos. The Zonnebos Bussloo project consists of constructions in the form of trees of varying height that are equipped with solar panels for generating solar energy. The Zonnebos therefore combines recreation, education and sustainable energy production in an unusual manner, making it a unique plan in the Netherlands. Placing the solar trees in between the existing trees over an area of about six hectares in the Bussenlood recreational area (municipality of Voorst, Gelderland) has created a spatially attractive and appealing whole, with possibilities for multiple uses.
