On the western outskirts of Drunen, RDH has designed three residential blocks for the rental and healthcare sector.
While each of the three apartment buildings has its own individual character, the choice of materials and details serves to create a strong connection between the buildings. The first building consists of owner-occupied apartments. The second consists of rental apartments. In the third apartment building, care and services are housed under an undulating roof.
The inclusion of a semi-sunken parking layer creates the illusion that the buildings are floating above the park. The choice of brick colour for the face of the buildings plays a crucial role in bringing unity to the different buildings. The same colour is used for all three buildings on the Statenlaan, whereas different colours are used facing the road leading to the buildings. The huge glass facades with patterns etched into the panes are also different, giving each of the buildings a unique appearance.
