De Geerhof is an assisted living centre at the edge of the village centre of Chaam. The residential programme includes 2 sheltered group accommodation units for psychogeriatric patients, 18 extra care apartments, 2 acute care apartments and 11 extramural accommodation units. There are also recreational and day care areas, a restaurant, a grand café and a health centre. The building volume is divided into an intramural and extramural section, connected to each other by a footbridge. The intramural section has been visually divided into two residential blocks with the support facilities in between, so that it fits in better with the scale of the surroundings. The main entrance leads directly to the main foyer, which also houses the restaurant, the grand café and the recreational area. Further to the rear and more privately situated are the day care areas, with a view over the stream and the surroundings. The offices and consultation rooms for the health centre and other facilities are located on a mezzanine floor that is directly connected to the public areas and the entrance on the ground floor by a lift and stairs
